I came to this place today because I have been have been craving for Indonesian food for a while. This review is not to throw shade at the cuisine but to this place. I ordered the Nasi Padang and wasn't disappointed except for their chicken curry in the Nasi Padang. I was disappointed because as soon as I split the chicken from the bone, it smelled really bad! The chicken was not fresh! Coming from a culture that doesn't like to waste food, I still took a stab at it and to be honest, the chicken was horrible! It tasted and looked like the chicken was rotting away and they still decided to cook it. Talk about food safety. I could've gotten sick from it. Very disappointed in what I came out he...

I come here all the time with my family and always take my friends whenever I'm craving indo food or want to introduce it to them! This has been my go-to since my family introduced it to me. My favorite is their Sate Babi (pork sate) that I always get. Their Nasi uduk is also superb and differently unique with a distinct coconut taste. Their Siomay Bandung is different than what I've had or remembered, but it was still good. I just recently got the chance to try their egg rolls and apparently you can get some for free if you check in on Yelp! I've had their ayam bumbu, ayam penyet, Pete, ikan lele (catfish) that they've removed from the menu, ayam kalasan, nasi bungkus pedas, avocado juice,...

I love this place. True Indonesian food that is gooood. My go to's are always: 1. Beef rendang (a la carte)2. Ayam Kremes (a la carte)3. Mie Goreng 4. Penyet komplit Everything is so good. If you've never had ayam kremes (basically fried chicken) you need to try it. It's so unique and so delicious. Same with beef rendang. And I love their Mie Goreng (fried noodles). Those would be my top 3 and then if you need another dish go with the Penyet komplit orrr one of their rice dishes like the nasi bungkus or nasi Padang depending on your preferences. Honestly you can't go wrong. I've gotten take out and dined in multiple times for lunch and dinner and they've never let me down. Service is all I n...

I dined quite a few times at Banana Leaf, an Indonesian restaurant located in Temple City. The food at Banana Leaf was absolutely incredible. I started with the gado-gado, a traditional Indonesian salad with peanut sauce that was bursting with flavor. For my entree, I ordered mie jawa, a classic Indonesian fried noodle dish, but I substituted the noodle with rice noodles. It was prepared perfectly, with just the right balance of spice and savory flavors. I highly recommend Banana Leaf to anyone looking for an authentic Indonesian dining experience in Temple City. I always bring my friends who come to visit from out of town.

The food at this restaurant was excellent the first time I went, but the service was not up to par. The waitress took our food order but did not ask about drinks. After a long wait, I had to get up and find her to order drinks. When our food arrived, I had to wait for her to check on us and bring sambal. The service was not as attentive as my first visit, when the owner or manager provided excellent hospitality. Despite the service issues, I would return for the good food, with the hope that the service improves.

The restaurant offers the best food for those who are feeling homesick for their Indonesian roots. I appreciate the generous portion sizes of each meal. Being from Indonesia myself, I enjoy spicy food and was pleased with the amount of spicy chili they provided (which made me want to order again). Overall, the food here is perfect for anyone with dietary restrictions longing for a taste of home.

Banana Leaf is consistently one of our top dining choices in the San Gabriel Valley, a hotspot for Asian cuisine. The Indonesian dishes are not only delicious, but at Banana Leaf they are expertly executed and consistently flavorful.

I always love coming here. The Jakarta style crunchy chicken and the smashed tilapia fish is always a go to. Their tamarind soup is so good!
