This is a typical lunch restaurant in a prime tourist location.... Beautiful surroundings and foul food. Could not recommend. Burger was greasy with tired lettuce. Croque Monsieur was this enormous flabby thing on a plate. Very unpalatable. Toilets very old and dirty looking right beside the kitchens.... Felt a bit uncomfortable about that but had already eaten or at least tried to. Strange service place virtually empty but wanted us to sit in a corner of the terrace rather than in the middle? What was that about? Anyway, if you are eating lunch in Bayonne it seems there are better places to spend your money.
This is a very extrange place, please do not waste your precious time and money here. The location is fabulous so we sat there and asked for a beer. The waitress comes with a menu and an old woman starts screaming they just want to drink, they do not want to eat!!! whereas we were looking at the dishes coming out of the kitchen. We managed to get a menu because the food looked great, and it was great. The young waitresses are ok but overworked, we wanted to have some desert and coffe, but it was virtually impossible. We had to pay in the counter like having to ask for mercy on our lives.
We were attracted by the "6 oysters plus a glass of white wine for 8€" sign (in French). We sat outside until the cool breeze drove us inside, and had a wonderful time. We started out with those, then moved on to rations (Basque-influenced small plates) with more wine. All delicious, with very friendly service that accepted our shaky French and offered good advice. Highly recommended. It's beside the cathedral, hence a bit removed from the restaurant area down by the Nive, but it's worth finding.
Visited a couple of times for drinks. I did have some fries on one occasion but others with me ate more substantial meals (moules, burgers etc.) and said it was very good. Lovely location next to the cathedral and the entrance to the cloisters. Great service from a friendly Israeli waitress.

small address in bayonne. service without chichi, pot dish day with very good fire, burger fries idem, croque gentleman very appetizing !! recommended reservation but not required !! a little less pretentious than other addresses where you are laughed if you haven't booked!
A pure treat. Stopover during a motorbike outing, it was by chance that I discovered this paradise of flavors. I enjoyed myself in a way that is not allowed. I recommend and above all, I will return.
Super menu à 19€ ! Un bon repas de qualité de l entrée au dessert, tout fait maison présenté avec soin et élégance. Les deux demoiselles au service sont sympathiques Et souriantes. Un sans faute.
Déjeuner à l'ombre.repasdu jour avec entrée plat dessert très bon et en plus belle présentation.prix cohérents par rapport au plats présentes. .
