Don 't get confused with the word 'bar '. Bar Jacques is a restaurant and it 's right next to Le Lodge Bar. It 's a narrow restaurant full of character. It has a fairly traditional French menu with pizza and some other variations. Most diners seemed to go...for the cheese fondue. Everything seemed quite reasonable, more so than any of the other restaurants we had been to in Val d 'Isere. Service was great and staff very friendly. Highly recommended.
back, 4 years since last due to the covid of course. we went this time for pizzas they are good, really good. but please share because we were not able to eat our separate. may we ever have a starter; with...fried reblochon( amazingly good.) however it is a heavier starter so that the rest of the pizzas that we have brought in a bag after home. I have to admit even cold. go there; the place is worth a visit, but book them in advance I think.
Group of 14 of us were sent to the basement. The ambience was lacking, no windows and poor lighting. The layout of the tables was not conducive to group dining. The wc was awful, filthy and squalid. The food was basic, poor ingredients and basic...presentation but the price was over €40 a head. We left feeling like we had been turned over. There a much better places to go for the money. Give it a wide berth.
we came into the bar jacques without a booking for an early dinner in the first night in val d’isere. the server was friendly and attentive. we were a family of four and one had a pizza, a steak and two regional dishes. all were. satisfied with their meal. cozy ambiente. we wanted to come back to take away pizzas in our week, but never in the position to make it (the pizza of my cream I tasted was so good! Give him a big pitch.
We have been going to Bar Jacques for many years, back to the time when the delightful Jaques himself was in charge. It is so good to find that all the positives which took us there are still in evidence: great and interesting food, very...friendly and helpful staff and reasonable prices. It's fairly small, but the effect is cozy and atmospheric. We all had a great time.
This was our second visit and this time to celebrate the end of our holiday. We had a fantastic 3 course meal with a lovely mix of local delacacies and traditional favourites. The service was excellent and the atmosphere so friendly and welcoming. We had...a most enjoyable evening and would recommend it wholeheartedly. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
First time I acme here was twenty years ago, last time was about twelve years ago. Was I feeling nostalgic about the place that was fantastic that long ago..... No..... Nothing has changed.... Near town centre, this samll atmospheric alpine and italian restaurant is on two floors. Great service, lovely food, huge portions, very good prices for Val D'Isere. Highly recommended for informal dining.
