We had arrived early off the Portsmouth-St Malo ferry and didn't have access to our rental property until 11am. By 9am Dinard was still very quiet and having wandered around in the cold we were in much need of coffee and breakfast. Bar Skipper was just what we needed and the first open place we came across. Petit dejeuner for 7.50 euros comprised fresh croissant and baguette from the boulangerie across the road (the waitress went to buy after we ordered), large coffee/tea/or chocolate and orange juice. Coffee was excellent and the croissant/baguette with jam and butter delicious. Warm, clean, welcoming and nice seating areas -strongly recommend.
Dinard in deep winter isn't the easiest place to find a reasonable place for lunch, but Le Skipper hit the spot. In a town full of pretentious options, thus place hit the spot.Unsurprisingly, given the time if year, it was full of locals; there aren't too many tourists around. It's a bar come restaurant, opening from breakfast onwards.We had a 'proper' Croque Monsieur and a really great salad. We only just managed to finish both.Despite the place being packed out, service was highly professional; capably delivered by the Patronne and one assistant, despite there being probably 40+ covers being served.A really great find.
Ce minuscule bar situé à l'angle d'un carrefour les plus passants de Dinard est sans conteste THE adresse où il fait être pour voir, à l'instar du Sénéquier à St-tropez, toute proportion gardée bien entendu. Mieux vaut arriver dès l'ouverture, car peut de temps après les quelques places terrasses sont prises d'assaut, et à l'intérieur, tout en longueur, guère plus de places, pour y goûter un petit déjeuner savoureux, un café expresso de bonne facture, ou quelques plats de bistrots traditionnels fait maison. Malgré l'effervescence permanente, un accueil familial et décontracté. Recommandé.
A great restaurant with a very fast service thanks to an ultra professional server. As a bonus, we have tasted homemade quality products. A top restaurant near the sea that offers delicious dishes at affordable prices!
