Barista & Chef - Reservar una mesa

Firstly have to admit straight off that my disappointment could have been avoided if I’d asked more questions. The brunch menu only has about 5 items on it and, since neither my girlfriend nor I eat beef or lamb, we immediately dismissed anything where beef was explicitly called out. Therefore it seemed like ‘2 eggs any style with homemade sausage and roasted potatoes’ would be a safe bet, since we are ok with pork. Anywhere I have ever been where sausage has been on a menu, it has been a safe assumption that it would be pork, and if not it usually says what meat it is, but not so at Barista Chef. I went with a group of friends and it was my first time here. The first impression was nice. Nice atmosphere not too dark, not loud, warm welcome). I have to tell that the variety of ordered appetizers or hors d 'oevr, or antipasti) we basically ordered all of them but the shrimps and the peppers) were really good, our less favorite were the mussels just a 7/10). We ordered also the tagliatelle, the branzino just arrived directly from overseas) and the salmon. Everything was cooked at the perfection. Nice final surprise the host offered a tasting of their desserts and they were good. Least but not last the service was friendly and never pushy , the way I like it.

Barista Chef is one of those rare establishments providing wonderful food and superior service over a long period of time. Even rarer is the excellent price/value ratio of the restaurant. If you have not experienced the beef cheek and tongue appetizer you have missed a truly great taste sensation. The cheeks are buttery soft and the rich sauce complements the texture and taste of the tongue. Also the house hummus is a favorite of ours. The price of both the food items and the wine is good. This is a restaurant you should try. The location is conveniently located on the St Clair streetcar line.

I recently went to Barista and Chef for lunch with some elderly friends. It was the perfect choice. Same great food and service, and the place is very accessible. (One of my friends has Parkinson’s. It was quiet and we had a great conversation. Really, one of the best places in the neighbourhood.

Hednor, the Barista is so welcoming, attentive, and flexible. The food is delicious and plentiful and the service impeccable. It 's become our 'go to ' spot for many meals. Especially love the chicken livers in a port reduction; you 've never tasted anything like it.
