Barley Mow Country Pub Dining Rooms

Booked a table for two on a Saturday evening. Very pleasant pub, plenty of space, the service was very good, the waitress attentive, and the food was excellent. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars everywhere is that my wife ordered a glass of Chardonnay, the said they did not have it and offered an alternative (Chablis). When I got the bill, this glass of wine was charged at almost £14. I do not doubt that it was a very good wine, but at this price it was not an alternative to a glass of house Chardonnay, and at a minimum I would have expected a warning about the price difference, when it was suggested as an alternative. Apart from that, a very pleasant evening and we will visit again...

I had a wonderful experience during my Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was delightful, the portion sizes were just right, and there was a lovely variety of vegetables. There was a slight delay in the arrival of the desserts, so I had almost finished my coffee by the time they came out. However, the addition of a portion of Smarties with the coffee was a nice touch.

we went as a party of 7 to celebrate our jubilee. the service was very good and the food was also very good at a reasonable price. there was also a good selection of food on the menu, especially as one of our party was vegetarian. would definitely recommend this pub and we will definitely go back.

Excellent meal. Well served if a little slow. Had to send the bill back twice as it was incorrect but it was it dealt with courtesy

A lovely venue and great food. We were a large party and service was slower than usual, but it didn’t matter as the banter flowed!
