Barrels O Candy - Reserva de mesa

We visited a week ago on October 22 and were disappointed to find that the saltwater taffy was not up to par. Typically, I love taffy, but this experience was different. The candies seemed extremely old—almost as if they had been purchased before the pandemic and are now being sold off. They crumbled as soon as I unwrapped them and had a hard outer layer. This was true for all the flavors. Given that these were the most expensive candies I've ever bought, it was particularly disappointing. My local grocery store sells fresh taffy at a fraction of the price. Barrels O Candy should either significantly lower their prices or update their stock.

My spouse and I are huge fans of Barrel O Candy in Virginia City. It's become one of our go-to spots for sweet treats. During our last visit, we were fortunate to be helped by two charming young ladies who were extremely helpful. The selection of taffy flavors was overwhelming, and we had a great time picking out different varieties to fill our bucket with a colorful assortment of taffy. The friendly and knowledgeable staff made our visit even more enjoyable. Barrel O Candy has definitely become a must-visit destination for us to satisfy our sweet cravings and create lovely memories together.

It felt like being a kid in a candy store, and that phrase truly captures the experience. Interestingly, the adults enjoyed themselves just as much. There’s something magical about the barrels overflowing with sweets. We nearly misplaced all three kids and grandma in there! We ended up sitting outside for a while, wondering if they'd ever emerge. Luckily, there are benches right by the front door, which was a blessing.

This candy shop falls short of expectations and seems to be trying to take advantage of the tourist appeal of Virginia City. The selection is disappointing, and the taffy variety is particularly lacking. To make matters worse, the candy is incredibly stale. The taffy crumbles and feels like it could damage a tooth. This place offers an incredible selection of candies, more than you could ever imagine. I tried some really unique taffy flavors and ended up buying half a pound, which turned out to be delicious. The staff here are incredibly friendly too!

This is must in vc. Expect to find all your childhood favorites and so much more. Customer service is exemplary!! And as for anything fabulous it won't be cheap. I say it's worth every penny

I was really disappointed! They sell expired candy at outrageous prices. I wish I had asked for a sample before spending my money. The woman working there was also unfriendly.

I spent $40 on mostly saltwater taffy, only to get home and find that most of it was rock hard. I felt pretty disappointed.
