I came to Barzolas this past Sunday and left extremely disappointed. I arrived at around 6:30p.m to be greeted by the hostess and taken to my table, there were other patrons at this time but I wouldn’t say it was a busy evening. I have come here in the past and would say even though I like the food the service has always been slow. Unfortunately, this past Sunday, service never came. We waiting for over a half an hour the waiter never even came to offer my table some water, I even switched tables to see if they notice our presence but continue to get ignored. Additionally, this chain is notorious for its overpriced food that is merely passable. The behavior of their employees truly reflects the subpar service that permeates the establishment. I recommend steering clear of this place; there are undoubtedly better options for Ecuadorian cuisine available. It's telling that despite its appealing appearance, the restaurant is often quite empty.
Probably one of the best Ecuadorian restaurants in NY right now. Their dishes are take you back to the motherland, with your family sazon, right in your plate. The decor is a great progress from your typical restaurant full of Barcelona or Emelec posters. Well done Barzola Astoria.
I visited this restaurant twice with my family, and both times were fantastic. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the drinks. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Got food poisoning. Had grilled chicken, rice and beans, bolon, and the seafood appetizer. Was in the bathroom all night it was horrible. Never coming back here :
The food isn't always consistent in quality, but when it's made right, it tastes great. Overall, it's best at the time when made correctly.

One of the best Ecuadorian restaurant. Ceviche is great! The cocktails are great too.
