I discovered this restaurant to be a hidden gem. As soon as I walked in and saw the locals enjoying their meals, I knew it was going to be a great experience. This classic, no-nonsense burger joint may not look like much from the outside, but their burgers are truly one-of-a-kind and delicious. The hand-cut fries are exceptional - some of the best I've ever had. The prices are surprisingly affordable, making it a great value. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend making a visit to this place, even if it's out of your way.
This is THE best Bates of the two, i live about a mile from bah tas on the boulevard , but drive to this one instead! For the people who don't or won't try any thing else, Boring! Try biscuits gravy or the Special . Best sliders in and around town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The food was delicious and overshadows any shortcomings of the facility itself. The staff are all young and not overly attentive, but they are friendly and efficient. Loved the cheeseburgers! Will definitely be back.
We have enjoyed Bates for 20 years until lately. Burgers are dry and fries are not done. The past 4 times have been the horrible. We did complain to MacKenzie, but she did not accept the criticism. We WONT GO BACK!!

Worth a visit. This is a Detroit area staple. Slider style burgers are the best!
