Bayou is delicious and bring not-often-found NOLA flavors to the DMV. Beignets and biscuits are the gems, seating can be limited with a few tables outdoors. Ordering is more like ticketing at the counter which can be chaotic, but there quick and well worth navigating. Popular spot with knowledgeable and accommodating staff are characteristic of Bayou Bakery during all seasons!ig: @harshaeats
OK so I love this place. I worked in the building for 13 years. The dud sandwich cafe closed and the space was empty for 3 years. I called the landlord twice to try to buy the commercial espresso machine, but no luck. Bayou has excellent espresso, the best croissants I have had outside France, and good food in many small and not-so-small bites.
I'm not going to hide that Bayou is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good, fresh, original and full of flavor. It's nice to be able to get brunch all day as well. Had breakfast here three days in a row, bacon egg and cheese on day 1, arm drips on days 2 and 3 with some Beignets thrown in.
Wonderful service!!!Omg as soon as we walked inside the two gentleman working here were so nice. One of them started talking to us and asking how we were!!Their coffee was super awesome and served hot as we requested.We sat inside because it was cold. But they do have seating tables outside too. This place is authentic, and really serves New Orleans food. Sometimes in the North, you get a fake Cajun food place, but this is not that type of place. I spent time in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and this is right out of the French Quarter.
Absolutely delish! From my mouthwatering sandwich (its bread exceptional) to the perfect cup o'joe this place is exceptional. Groovy atmosphere, down-to-earth staff, robust menu to please any palette...a must try.
Fun Café! King cake daiquiri was delicious! Mac and cheese was good, muffuleta and arm drip were good. Ice coffee was OK. Beignets were yummy! Nice spot but limited seating, order ahead.

We were supposed to be in New Orleans and were not able to go.... So a trip to Bayou Bakery and their delicious Beignets was the next best thing! YUM!
