I was particularly impressed by the intricate layering of flavors in their rolls, which are beautifully balanced for a memorable and unique experience. Each ingredient shines without any single flavor overpowering the others. This hidden gem for sushi enthusiasts truly surpasses its more established competitors in the city. With friendly staff, an upscale yet cozy atmosphere, and exceptionally good sushi, Beema Okaasan is a dining destination that is definitely worth the visit!
I'm so glad we discovered this place. It offers a delightful, quick, and casual meal bursting with flavor. It’s some of the best sushi I've had in the Midwest in a long time, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. I loved the unique rolls, interesting flavors, and just the right amount of heat. For vegetarians, there were several vegan roll options, making it a great choice for those with dietary preferences. Parking was convenient and easy to access. The restaurant also appeared to be wheelchair accessible and accommodating.
I visited the restaurant with a small group this past Monday. After placing our order, we were waiting for our drinks when I noticed something concerning. The man behind the counter, who was preparing food, handled cash payments from other diners while wearing gloves. Unfortunately, he then continued to prepare our food using the same gloves. This is unacceptable! Money is dirty! We decided to leave and explained our reasons to him before doing so. It was a really disappointing experience. So gross!
I was initially inclined to rate this place 3 out of 5, but the quality of the food earned it an extra star. The food is definitely excellent! The sushi was delicious, though slightly overpriced. However, the atmosphere leaves much to be desired—it's outdated and unappealing. We experienced long waits for our food and saw several customers and delivery drivers leave. They didn’t offer refills on our drinks, only on water. If I return, I’ll probably opt for takeout instead.

I've been to numerous sushi restaurants in Michigan, and Beema Okaasan offers the best sushi I've ever had. Although the rolls are somewhat expensive, this is reflected in their generous size and beautiful presentation. They are well worth the price. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. The only thing that stands out is the restaurant's ambiance; it's quite small, and the interior design and decor are a bit unconventional.
This is a hidden gem. It's a cozy and intimate spot that offers big flavors, and the sushi is simply exquisite. They have a wide variety of options, and I enjoyed every single one. I highly recommend the A Star is Born roll. I will definitely return to try more of their offerings!
