Benchmark American Brasserie

We just had an amazing 21st Anniversary dinner here! First off, the place is beautiful, clean and very spacious with just the right lighting for a romantic setting. We were greeted with smiles and directed to a table right when we walked in, followed by our waitress asking us what we wanted to drink. They have a very impressive menu of whiskeys, wines, mixed drinks and also many beers. We ordered 2 appetizers, bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cheese and duck drizzled with house made ranch and also the lobster and shrimp dip which was a nice cheesy fluffy dip that you spread on crouton style crackers. Excellent French based meals. The Jalapeño Duck appetizers are incredible. Tried the duck as a main course as well. Not bad, bit of an acquired taste. The potato side dish is great as well. One observation is that they use extremely fresh spices like they had plucked them from the garden (rosemary was excellent). Not a restaurant for loading up like a crawfish boil. Definitely a place for a refined palate. Portions are decent but also more aligned to European sizes so don't expect leftovers.

This is the place to go for a romantic date night, anniversary or a special occasion. The ambience, warmth, the professional waiting staff that was so attentive; Jennifer was great. The manager stopped at our table to welcome us; that was a very warm note. I had the salmon and my husband had a chicken dish; both excellent and we had the vegan chocolate brownie, with almond milk ice cream. It was delicious! My date here was a 5th. Is that possible? We will visit Benchmark regularly!

This place has a reputation to be expensive, I completely do not agree. The quality of food, the amazing service, the ambience, it is not much more than any other upper restaurant in Texarkana. I was here twice and had good food and good service every time. Very recommended. Very unique for a Texarkana market. I know that the boss and the manager specifically moved back to the area to do this. Very good people.

Wonderful food great atmosphere. A great place for friends family. Must haves, Pittsburg Rare Filet a great selection of sides.
