First of all, it's owned and run by a Korean couple, so it's not a real Japanese restaurant. Most, if not every sushi restaurant in Bakersfield is Korean owned and operated. How do I know? Look at the sushi on your plate. Is the nori wrapping the rice, or is the rice on the outside? Is there an overabundance of Mayonnaise based sauce? American and Korean style sushi are different from real Japanese sushi. I enjoy Bento Express. The male owner is friendly and engages in polite conversation. The chef is quite talented.The food is good.

I ordered rolls and sushi and it was really delicious. However, the sushi felt like bare rice that had not been seasoned with vinegar. I wondered if sushi was made with the same rice used in the rolls, without any additional seasoning. Still, I enjoyed it!

Unagi don is overpriced as there was only a thin layer of eel and all rice underneath. Also they charge 3.5 for each cup of hot tea, which usually is free in a Japanese restaurant. The bento combo and fried rice are of good value though

It was good. I have been there several times. There is a good selection and they serve a lot of food.
