Edit: In the end after a lot of back and forth they did refund one night. I’ve been travelling quite often but this place was the worst experience I had so far. Once we arrived we were greeted with a closed door towards our room, there was no reception no help and some other guest closed the door from the inside. Luckily after a while they woke up and let us in, only for us to discover our room is not closed and somebody else is already sleeping there. Further more there wereno bedsheets. I travel extensively and I’ve had many many burgers. So where is the absolute best burger I’ve ever had? Kochel! At Berg Blick. The young owner/chef trained at Schloss Elmau, famous resort where the G7 meets when in Germany. And she also was at the Hotel Imperial in Vienna. All this is to say that the food is not just your basic burger, but something that is much more complex with an amazing complement of flavors. The rest of the menu also offers fantastic choices. Pastas and salads. Someone complained about the service, but just realize it’s Europe and not America. If you need something, just ask. They won’t rush you out or bring your check before you’re done. Great location and experience. The food and drinks at the restaurant are delicious. The staff is friendly. The hostel is decent considering the price. Good place to socialize and make new friends. Kochelsee is 5 min walk away, perfect for a refreshing dip in the lake. Heimatbühne bus stop is just outside, which will take you to Bahnhof and Walchensee. Early morning coffee and breakfast are not available as the restaurant opens at 11:30. Breakfast is available at Sonnenspitz 7:30 onwards which is 5 min walk away. Not a lot of space to dry wet clothes. These things could be improved for a better experience.

We waited 2h for our food. We were three people and sat down at 6:30 pm. While other tables, that arrived later than us got their food. 2h of my life i‘ll never get back.
