Came here yesterday for afternoon tea with my family. And after reading the reviews both on here and trip adviser, I thought there was no better place, and I was right! The decor is beautiful and for a very small cafe the space was really made well of! The tea selections were exquisite! I tried the Kentish ale and it was so nice I had to buy some to take home! (An amazing bonus! and the lavender tea too! my partner isn't always up for trying things out of his comfort zone but he tried two different types as well! My mum and husband tried the teas too and were very impressed! The food was beautiful! With finger sandwiches that tasted amazing and the homemade lemon drizzle and Belgian chocolat...
This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were impressed. The lovely waitress provided us with an explanation of the specials and there was an extensive list of teas and other delights to choose from. My partner ordered the Kentish huffkin with coal cheese, and I had a cheese dish. We finished with a cream tea for him and ice cream for me. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back. I have already recommended this place to all my friends and I highly recommend it to you as well.
delicious afternoon tea. book for 3 adults and the afternoon of a child. beautiful selection of fresh, tasty sandwiches, amazing selection of exceptional cakes, huge scones and a divine posset. the tee of the child was almost as big as the adult and was perfect. every crumb was consumed. all served in this precious stone of a teesalon. we all loved it and will definitely return and recommend all.
This wonderful place takes you back in time. The ambience is authentic and the food, service and atmosphere are all perfect! We loved it there. They even catered for Me, I have a dairy allergy but I still got to enjoy a huge range of sandwiches and cakes. Very impressed and will definitely be making this place a regular port of call!!

We went today for our festive afternoon tea , it was amazing , the food was delicious , the staff were lovely , the tea parlour is beautiful , it’s so nicely done , we felt relaxed and had a wonderful Christmas atmosphere , thank you so much , we will be back again , highly recommended little gem
Today I visited myself and my friend at the beauty the beast afternoon tea, and I can't blame it at all. Amazing eating, tee the workers are also so inviting! to finish everything, I have won the raffle that I have won a beautiful cake. many thanks to Bessie’s! xx
Love my visits to Bessie's, so much to enjoy, the retro feel, huge choice of tea, and one of my favourites is a chai latte. Always an excellent choice of cakes that beg to be eaten!
Love this tea room. 2nd visit really enjoyed it. Afternoon tea is a must, fresh sandwiches cakes which are really tasty such a cute little tea room which is highly recommended

many thanks for a beautiful Mother's Day tee! the gluten-free option was matched to the regular afternoon tea and was delicious. the staff was very friendly and attentive.
The beauty and the beast today was so lovely, the staff were so warm and kind to my 2 year old and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
