Big Shake's Hot Chicken Fish

I absolutely adored everything about this restaurant. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was very relaxed and laid-back. I had a pleasant conversation with one of the owners while I waited, and he was incredibly nice. I decided to try this place based on a recommendation from an instructor at the New Approach School for Jewelers, and I am so happy I did.

I had the fish plate while my husband had fish and chicken combo. Our food was delicious, hot and fresh. The lady at the register should enroll in some type of school! Her memory is second to none. She spoke to everyone in there by their name, no mistakes! The Healthcare profession could use her. She made our experience better.

Update 2024: I went back because the food was amazing...unfortunately, the restaurant has closed as of February 2024. The fries were probably the best I've had in a long time. The catfish was fried and seasoned perfectly, and the greens were delicious. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I will definitely visit again.

This place has had a sign on their doors and a note on their Facebook page that says TEMPORARILY CLOSED! I have heard that they most likely will not reopen. If anyone else knows any information about why they remain closed it would be great. This was always a favorite place of mine to get hot chicken on a regular basis. Reserva una mesa ahora

Passed by the gulch location and it looks to be permanently closed with a for lease sign up. I don’t remember seeing any email communications about them going out of business. The last message was promoting e-gift cards for the holidays. It’s a shame if they really did close.

Everytime I come this waitress get my order wrong but I’m so hungry I just eat it but as far as the price difference it’s starting to irritate me. I order catfish and they give me whitening fish this is so annoying I won’t even go back

This was my first time eating here. The fish and chicken both were amazing. I wasn't a fan of the collard greens(and I love collards) but the white beans and cornbread made up for it

We literally waited an hour. Food was quite greasy. Definitely won't be back.
