Billy's On The Road

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed Billy's before as we have eaten there quite a few times before today. It's a great stop off for a meal and coffee. Today we had a Billy's big breakfast, and Avocado on sourdough with 2 poached eggs, streaky bacon and a slice of black pudding. The food was tasty with quality ingredients and beautifully cooked and served. It was great to be able to swap and add items from the extras list on the menu too. All the staff are attentive, happy and efficient, the blonde lady is always lovely and ensures her staff are very good at their job. Almost forgot to mention the fantastic coffee, just the jolt I needed and a great flavour.

I can’t think why I’ve left it so long to write a review for this restaurant. That said, here it is: As a motorcyclist we are often expected to accept food (and coffee) of such an appallingly low standard it detracts enormously from a ride out. That’s definitely NOT the case at Billy’s. First rate food, delicious coffee, wonderful service and easy, safe parking. I’m a regular and that’s unlikely to stop. In my opinion it is, without doubt, the best rides café in the south east. Brilliant. Well done.

Billy's is a fantastic restaurant with delicious food served in a relaxed and unique atmosphere, which is quite impressive considering its past as a LittleChef. Some of the staff seem to have psychic abilities, as they are always prompt and bring food exactly when needed. There is plenty of parking available (and possibly a nearby Premier Inn or Travelodge), and if you enjoy looking at motorbikes, there is also an opportunity to do so at this restaurant.

If I could give less than 1 I would. Never have I ordered a toasted sandwich to be presented with cheese on toast and told ‘that’s how we do it’. Bread was soggy on one side and burnt on the other. We shared some chips which were oily and otherwise bland. Honestly have had better from a roadside van. My mums sausage sandwich was also greasy and not much to write home about. We had a fantastic breakfast at Billy's. The service was fast and efficient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. At first, it looked like just a small hut next to the busy road when we arrived at the Travelodge next door at night. However, in the morning light, we discovered that Billy's is actually a hidden gem with delicious food and a cheerful atmosphere.

Absolutely awful. Coffee was disgusting, tea tasted funny. Staff were friendly enough, service was slow which would have been acceptable had the drinks been palatable. Asked on paying what we thought, told it was awful and sorry about that was response. Went as recommended by a friend. Whilst there one customer was cleaning a high chair for her grandchild.

We’ve been here many times for lunch over the last year. It’s become a Dad Daughter favourite. No matter what we choose from the menu, the food is always of a high standard and plentiful. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always obliging. Fab chef too.

This restaurant is fantastic. The entire staff is welcoming, especially Fran who always makes patrons feel right at home and truly shows she cares. Keep up the great work, Fran - Billy's wouldn't be as enjoyable without you. Reserva una mesa ahora

A sort of up-market transport cafe. Good food, good service, easy parking and good value, all combined into an excellent packet.

Just tried the pizza delivery service, poor guy had trouble finding us, but glad he did, absolutely delicious!
