Our server was absolutely adorable and very kind, sweet and attentive. We had the mussels in tomato sauce, the charcuterie board, and the tomato salad, and salmon with wasabi butter. Everything we had was cooked well and well presented, but just underwhelming as far as flavors. I was expecting more spark with the wasabi butter, but it was bland tasting. The salmon portion was a good size portion and I enjoyed the vegetables - the salmon just needed to be more zing to it, maybe drizzle of an eel or ginger sauce or more wasabi in the butter. This was my second visit to Birdy's - I was impressed with my first visit, and was looking forward to another, to confirm my first impression. The exterior of the building is rather non-descript and you could easily drive by and miss a great meal. My colleagues and I were there for lunch, and I selected the Mediterranean Pasta (with chicken), based on their recommendation. It was delicious! Grilled chicken breast chunks over a mound of pasta and accompanied with a flavourful green salad.I was told by one of my colleagues that Birdy's can be busy during the evening dining hours, but that the cuisine was still top notch. I'll have to arrange an evening with my wife in the future.
We ate at Birdy's for lunch after moving our son into a nearby apartment. The service was very good and we really appreciated how attentive our server was. The restaurant has a number of different rooms enabling a cozy and quaint feel. The food was served piping hot and plentiful; their home-made french fries (which our server recommended) did not disappoint. All of our dishes were nicely prepared and presented and the food was perfectly cooked. The harvest chicken burger with cranberry mayonnaise was a real highlight, as was the chicken club - will be back here to try out more dishes and what looks like a solid dinner menu offering as well.
You know when you have a few go-to restaurants in town that you know you will always be happy with their food... This place just made our list.Menu had a wonderful variety of items to choose from that should satisfy even the pickiest eaters. I had the BIRDY’S HOUSE SPECIALTY & my husband had the SHAVED AAA RESERVE ANGUS PRIME RIB SANDWICH. Prices are very reasonable for the quality not to mention our server was attentive without being annoying... She was great.I know we will be returning. I just wish I could drink at the moment... the happy hour would be perfect this time of year.Highly recommend.
Before visiting the restaurant, I phoned to inquire about their safety measures, and they assured me that they were very diligent in accommodating dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, they began sanitizing a station to prepare food separately. While they don't have a dedicated fryer, they made roasted potatoes specifically for my child with celiac disease to enjoy with her burger. The food was flavorful, and we all had a fantastic dining experience.
Birdie's was a wonderful surprise. Unassuming on the outside and rustic, yet well appointed, on the inside, this restaurant delivers! The menu listed local products prepared with imagination in gourmet dishes. We had the mussels, lamb chops and osso bucco. All were outstanding. Topped up with a couple of bottles of the local Huff's pinot noir, this was a perfect meal.
The staff made us feel very valued as customers. The decor and menu are distinct improvements over the previous restaurants at this location. They just didn't offer the standard fare. I had the lamb chops, which were done to perfection. My husband loved his pasta. We will return.
