What a fantastic little place this is . We'd no sooner sat down when there were two glasses of iced water in the table for us . A really varied selection of Greek/Turkish and Spanish tapas , which you can mix to get the selection you want . The food was really lovely and the owners friendly banter made you feel like you'd known him for years.. Top food , top drinks , top service , and the bill was very reasonable. We were only in Southport for one night , and so glad we chose bistro bar med , and we'll definitely be booking in there again when over that way.
Absolutely the best experience I have legitimately had EVER eating out. I'm from Manchester and me and my partner attended here and we've never dined like it! The host was so welcoming and put every single one of his customers first. The food was absolutely insanely nice. All topped off with a lovely man named Nigel who even paid mine and my partners bill who I hope sees this and I wish him all the best and thank you so so much! The night me and my partner had dining here will never be forgotten! Hope to come again!
Just had an excellent meal in Bar Med. we took the owners recommendation for the number of selections which worked out to be perfect and left just enough room for desert. All the food was excellently prepared and tasted fantastic. I am not one for waxing lyrically about restaurant food, but I will make an exception for Bar Med. the owner and staff were also outstanding, a warm welcome, and and even warmer departure after the meal. Well done Bar Med you will see us again
Visited with my wife while in Southport. The welcome was very friendly and the iced water that arrived was topped up all night. We choose a decent Malbec at a decent price. The dip and tapas we picked were all delicious and filled us up (we picked 5 tapas between the two of us) The host was jolly all night and went out of his way to ensure we were having a very good time. Would highly recommend.

Booked last minute for early evening. Arrived and table ready with glasses of iced water. Service was so friendly and relaxed and the food was amazing, Ate far too much as it was all so good. Would definitely recommend if you like good food in a lovely atmosphere.
Fabulous. Food was delicious and the service impeccable. Beautiful independent run expertly by an owner passionate about his business. We will be back!
This place never disappoints, an excellent mix of Spanish and Turkish Tapas served in a pleasant ambiance with warm and friendly staff.
