Black Cat Cafe Ruddington

I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant, which offers good, straightforward food and friendly staff. They have a solid kids' menu, and high chairs are available—my waiter was kind enough to set one up for me. I ordered the chili con carne baked potato, and it was delicious, generously topped with guacamole and sour cream. My 11-month-old son tried the pasta from the kids' menu, which was cooked perfectly for a child—soft and flavorful. The portion size was a bit large for him but would be just right for an older child. Overall, it’s a lovely café for a peaceful lunch.

The staff are so friendly and charming. The chef's breakfast making skills are occasionally patchy (luke-warm sausage, chewy fried egg hence 4 but you can't really fault a cafe that offers mashed avocado with a beautifully poached egg. The coffee is hot and flavoursome and arrives with hot milk if requested. Prices are very competitive. But the best bit is the people who work there.

I visited the restaurant with my wife, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They even accommodated our request by transforming a ploughman’s sandwich into a vegetarian option by removing the meat and adding an egg. The sandwiches are massive—so much so that neither of us felt the need to eat again until breakfast the following day!

earlier this week had lunch with my wife and was recommended to the egg benedict. I had an earlier bad experience in the well-branded hotel chain with egg benedict so was unwilling to try again. So they did it for me with the sauce on the side. it was amazing and would recommend it all the way. will be back soon. Thank you Reserva una mesa ahora

Had a bacon sandwich and a latte, latte very nice and unusually hot. Nicely filled sandwich with quality bacon. Also on the menu a plowmans sandwich my wife had a small portion and said it was beautiful, her cuppa was also really nice. Thank you for the refresh before our long journey home.

I just stopped for a complete English. a little more pricier than what we are used to, but in no way disappointed we have eaten now. in any case on the breakfast, no complaining, what ever. all honestly cooked to perfection and really friendly service with a smile! highly recommended!

The coffee is reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They offer a variety of cooked dishes along with some delicious cakes. On sunny days, you can also enjoy sitting outside.

I love having my segregation here! winged eggs are cooked to perfection and cake delicious too! the staff is excellent and very friendly!
