I've been here since I was in junior high and even if I'm not in La Crescenta, my family and I'm back every other weekend for Saturday brunch. We sometimes even come to dinner on Sunday evenings! They serve delicious dishes, consistently and with a lot of love, and they feel like a part of the family, especially with the beautiful staff they have on board. And finally, I can confidently say that even with LA's brunch scene near with new hip restaurants, which seems like a monthly basis, Black Cow will always be my favorite spot to eat good food, with family / friends, people / dog watch, and let time pass by as I enjoy.
The Black Cow Café makes some of the most beautiful brunch food ever! Their waffles are divine, and everything they serve is fresh and beautiful. Your coffee is delicious, and they also have an espresso bar. Be ready to wait up to 45 minutes for weekend brunch, but waiting is pleasant, and the food is worth it. Service can be a little slow, but again, it is a relaxed, relaxed experience, not a fast meal. They also make wonderful sandwiches and very creative and tasty salads (beards, these are HUGE! and baked goods. The Gelato counter has a world of temptation!
The food is excellent, but what this place deals with, and keeps us back, is the wonderful staff. So warm, friendly and attentive feel really welcome from the moment you arrive. I deal with social fear, so this means the world for me and makes it possible to enjoy every sip and bite of their delicious price. Also a great neighborhood with lots of fun, independent business along the street, including an amazing Rockwellian toy shop (Tom 's Toys), which is not to be missed.
