We lived in Montrose 30 years ago and Joselitos was our go-to family restaurant. Our plans for the weekend took us to the area and I thought, why not? I am not exaggerating, the food was every bit as we remembered it! The albondigas soup is the best I 've had outside of Mexico. It has spice in the broth and the generous meatball has me wanting more! If you are looking for Sonoran-style Mexican food, you won 't find it better than Joselitos. The chips are toasty, the salsa is fresh, the rice and beans that come with most meals are delicious and flavorful. My traditional margarita was perfect, with the lime flavor coming through and not too sweet. I look forward to going back and not waiting 3...
Ordered a Chili Colorado Tostada, but all I got was a pile of lettuce and 2-3 small bites of meat on the outside of the tostada to make it look like it had meat on it. I felt like the Wendy 's Ladies saying where 's the beef from the old commercials. Service and drinks were ok, but food was disappointing.
The Tujunga location has excellent staff. The greatest service available. In particular, Nathan was cordial, attended to our requirements, and addressed all of our inquiries. Actually, every member of staff is just outstanding. I appreciate how high you've set the bar for customer service.
Excellent special tonight- “Mexico City Tacos de Cochinita Pibil” was absolutely delicious and even elevated. Cant wait for them to bring it back!
