Let me start saying that I've been in black oak for over 6 years and I think they have the best wings I've ever had. I did not want to leave a review because I am a bar/restaurant owner, so I know how reviews can affect your business, so I decided to send an email to the address on the website and nobody reacted. I have them a week to answer, or I left a review. I was there two Sundays and the service was absolutely terrible. We were there two hours and managed to get 3 rounds of drinks and a sequence of wings. We wanted to order food, but the bartender never came to our order, although we asked them. I really enjoyed having lunch at Black Oak Tavern in Oak Lawn. I ordered two appetizers, Chicken tender, juicy, plumb and delicious. The honey mustard dipping sauce is house made and was delicious!! Great blend of sweet and savory. And a Bavarian pretzel, buttery tender and the Gouda cheese sauce for dipping was awesome! Loved my choices. They do have burgers, sandwiches, and other dishes to choose from. The Tavern is clean, spacious and the server was friendly and helpful. The prices are a tad high but is worth it for a treat. I had a server named brian and he was amazing. At such a young age, he was attentive, kind, alert, and always checked in on how our meal was. His service was so quick and the way he made my family feel at home really goes to show how he’s being raised to be a responsible and respectful young man. I really appreciate what he is doing for the restaurant and i will be coming back!Kid-friendliness: very inviting to my children

I threw my first surprise party for my husband as he finished the Chicago fire academy at the black oak. Maggie was the manager that helped me set everything up and she was so helpful and kind! Erin was our host for the day. She was fabulous! They let us set up early, catered to all our requests for food and alcohol. It was a wonderful experience. The food is amazing too! The food was very good and the atmosphere was GREAT. But the service was terrible. I ordered a piece of cake and the people next to me ordered fried apps. Your food was in just a few minutes while my food came out over 20 minutes. Then I had to hunt the server after I gave her my money to pay the tab to get my change!

Buffalo shrimp was great I and my friends had a good time!! All white family business, but we were treated like everyone else and the food was FANTASTIC, sometimes it can go unpleasant somewhere where no one looks like you, but it is important that we were not crazy to feel different.

With so many options to choose in the area of Chicagoland, this is a fantastic choice. The food was really good, the service was spectacular, and the atmosphere is really fun. Very recommended to try this place. Food: 5/5

Don't order drinks from this place. I ordered a martini and it was basically all juice. So disappointed. The food is good but unless you are ordering a beer stay clear of the alcoholic beverages! Reserva una mesa ahora

Buffalo shrimp are bomb! The staff is amazing, even when they are short staffed they work they butts off to get your food out quick.
