Tonight we, as a family, decided to go out for dinner. In the past we've had great experiences at Memories of Muskoka so decided to go tonight. They had a turkey special that's a great deal with a starter and dessert. My Mother has dietary...restrictions and was clarifying with the young server that it was very important that the chef understood. The server was impatient with her and cut her off. The appetizers were delivered long after the order was taken minutes. The two turkey dinner meals (that came with the appetizers) were delivered about minutes after the appetizers arrived. I am having a hard choice determining what to set the stars at because I’ve had multiple experiences and it seems to me that whomever is working (or lack there of) determines whether we enjoy ourselves or not. Here’s some key points. The family who owns this restaurant used to have presence a lot but now we barely see them. Service staff FOH. Breakfast is usually busy but well handled. We usually go on weekends and it’s good. However, our experience about 4 weeks ago was atrocious. We sat near the kitchen so could here everything that was being said and let me tell you, you blakes need to stop employing a lot of these people. There were 11 of us on sleds on Sat Feb 29/22 at about 11:30. Our server was fabulous! She kept it lite and got it all right and made us laugh and took our pictures.... . And we were probably a real pain to coordinate. The kitchen was efficient and accurate. Food all good. Only suggestion is that we have had great wings there before and the wings on Sat were not your usual. Way small, less meaty, a bit over fried. Hope you will talk with your supplier to get the wings back to flying straight. Gladly pay a couple bucks more per pound for superior wings. Thanks for being there we have been regulars since you opened.
We stopped here on the weekend and had an okay experience. We had two servers, one who was friendly and helpful and another who just put our food on the table and left without a word/acknowledgement. The garlic bread was okay; the bread was fresh...but it was pretty simple. Our sweet potato fries were good but came with a chipotle mayo which basically tasted like Miracle Whip which was disappointing. We had the Thai chicken wrap which was good and the chicken fajita soup which was also good. Nothing was outstanding but nothing aside from the chipotle mayo was horrible either. My wife and I were in Parry Sound and looking for a good place for breakfast. Front desk at our hotel said to head out to Memories as it was well worth the drive. Took the back way out. The Vista was amazing. Fall colours...were mesmerizing. Memories has a rustic look and feel. Tables and chairs have the cottage feel. Try the eggs Benedict with sausage. Amazing. A reasonable cost and staff there is pleasant and helpful.
Great place with a good Muskoka vibe and a delicious food! The staff are welcoming and friendly. I've been there many times over this summer and it's always a pleasant experience. Also, having pool tables darts makes this place even more entertaining. Cool place to meet with your friends to hang out, highly recommend :
Waited a hour for a chicken sandwich and there was only other customers there, my waitress was sitting on of those customers lap eating off his plate. When she finally realized she was at work she brought my food out cold. Didn’t...offer desert or anything so I just left and won’t be back..
