My wife and I spent our honeymoon on the Big Island, and we couldn't resist returning to this guy’s food truck multiple times! Although we've tried several places in the mainland U.S., we found that Kona offered the absolute best service and boba. Remarkably, he remembered our orders after just the second visit. What's even more impressive is that he was knowledgeable about the raw ingredients in his teas and knew how to create a cleaner sugary milk tea. I just wish we could have this truck back in Texas, using the same high-quality ingredients that Hawaiians expect.
Maybe it's because I'm from Los Angeles where boba is almost everywhere, but this place was really disappointing.. I ordered the peach green tea with boba because I was told it was one of the more popular drinks. It just tasted like artificial peach syrup.. Additionally, the boba texture wasn't great. It was a bit soft seemed like it had been made a while ago.. Satisfies the boba craving if you're really in need, but wouldn't recommend going unless you're desperate.
Finally a place that can do bubble tea with enough flavor. I still have yet to find a bubble tea place that does real tea as compared to powdered drinks. This one does powdered drinks but still really expensive at $6.50. However they add enough to get good flavor as compared to another recent one I tried which tasted super diluted.
I visited this restaurant today and was quite disappointed. I ordered a brown sugar boba, but it lacked any brown sugar, and the tea tasted more like coffee than black tea. My husband tried the Thai tea, which was just okay—slightly watered down and overly strong, as if it had steeped for too long.

Thai tea blended with lychee jelly! Delicious we also got raspberry, milk, tea, and Matcha! Everyone is happy! Super recommend!
We got iced coconut tea with honey boba and iced black tea， it was really really good and fresh, perfect for a hot beach day

Don’t let the fact this is a truck fool you. The boba is super fresh and the blended drinks are tasty.
