To be clear, Le Boisvinet is a restaurant well-known to us and within walking distance of home--so we have a real interest in its quality. At times, it has been a bit uneven and the menus difficult as one could change nothing. Our last visit, however, made a big impression as the food was truly delicious and the menu well-chosen. As always, the welcome was very warm and gracious. We enjoyed our aperos with the house-made tapenade and cumin madelines as we ordered the menu. All of our party enjoyed the warm oysters with a 'sauce vert' of herbs (incredible!), and three had the filet mignon of pork, which was perfectly tender and cooked pink. I had fish with local 'migottes' (white beans cooked with onion and herbs)) which was also very refined and delicious. For dessert, we split--two for the apple strudel, two for the all-chocolate eclairs. Each course was a pleasure and everyone was completely delighted. The space is large enough to receive big parties and also small tables without difficulties. One of the great comforts is to be able to talk quietly without straining because of the noise around. Best to reserve, especially in the summer months, but it is well-worth the effort. The food is light, savory, and extremely well-prepared.
