We traveled to this magical destination with the most spectacular view of the Walensee river and soul stirring mountains. When we arrived, it was early evening, and we were exhausted. We had a lot of luggage and did not want to leave it in the car because we were not certain of its safety. It was a beautiful area, but we had not been there before and we wanted to be careful. My son and I were meeting relatives for the first time, so it was a very important trip for us. We got the bags out of the car and walked to the elevator which was out of service unfortunately for safety reasons. There were no people there, so there was no one to get a hold of at that time. I am handicapped and could not carry the bags and our room was on the third floor. There were steep winding steps, but they were large, and there were good hand grips, which really saved the day for our trek to our room. When we reached the third-floor we opened the door to find another small set of steps, and by the time we got to the room, I didn’t think I would be able to walk anymore for a long time. I was really thirsty and looking forward to some cold water or some of the wine and fruit that was depicted in the ad when we made a reservation. There was nothing to drink at all, but there were two glasses and two chocolate mints. I just used the glass and drank out of the sink. The water was delicious because the water in Switzerland is marvelous, so that took care of that problem. We looked for a little refrigerator, but there was none and we thought we might get something from the restaurant, but it was closed , so we looked at the Majestic view from our balcony and fell asleep. I contacted the owner the next morning and she was very gracious and explained that the restaurant was permanently closed because of a death in the family, and that she had closed the elevator for safety reasons. She then offered to bring us hot coffee and buttered pretzels in the morning. She was quite lovely and very gracious. She did say that we should have told her that I was handicapped, and she would’ve arranged for a different room for us. That was quite lovely but I usually don’t notify people of my handicap ahead of time. I just check the information about the facility before we make a booking. The room was large and very clean, and the view was awe inspiring. The bed was so comfortable and it had controls that allowed you to raise and lower the head and feet to find your own comfort level. The restroom sink was a spacious and had an artistic flair and there was a bidet which was a phenomenal plus. The several uncomfortable things were greatly outweighed by the positives of this day. We wish the owner well and hope for positivity in her life. It might be a good idea to at least put a coffee pot in the room so when you are gazing at the perfect view you can do it with a cup of coffee or tea in your hand. There are other places to eat, so that can be easily dealt with. Thank you for a memorable adventure. Madeleine and Hunter from Maryland in the United States

It all sounds a lot like booking, but once you arrive the drama begins. Cumbersome front door/access and unclear whether there is anyone there at all, it was pitch black when I arrived, it seemed closed. I already had to enter my CC details on booking and again at the door, it remains to be seen whether I paid for a double room. WiFi connection lasts less than two minutes and keeps cutting out, very annoying if you 're trying to work in transit! Curtains are not big enough to cover your window properly, not even half of it. Solution? But hung a blanket over the TV. There is a glass in your room, but no bottle of water or something? Doors closing loudly, literally hearing your neighbors PIN code being pressed as well as the chatter from the room next to you. The communal bathroom is very noisy, I have no interest in hearing anyone tinkling! The restaurant is closed, there appears to be no crew walking around, it seems like a mixed bag, what is this really about?

Price performance OK per se. Unfortunately the elevator was broken and apparently someone sometimes turns off the light in the hallway (It's automatic... it's probably the fuse. Unfortunately our room was not made up. But since there is usually no reception or The restaurant is currently closed and there was no complaint center. (I had already called about the elevator, that was enough . For one night if you're invited to an event at the SagiBeiz, the whole thing works. Large free parking lot directly in front of the house. Ps.: Really quiet location, including a wake-up call from the neighbor's rooster and sometimes the gardener.

Nicely located small hotel. Very nice rooms and a fantastic view of Lake Walen. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace facing the lake. Very friendly staff. The hotel is very easy to reach.
