This local establishment has been doing business in the same location for 62 years. There is a reason for their longevity: they do things the right way. The menu is sufficient enough to offer something for everyone. The restaurant is clean, if not real upscale and trendy. The washrooms are immaculate. The glass at the entry isn 't covered in hand prints all the time because it is being cleaned as necessary. There are TV 's so that you can watch as you dine if interested. My wife and I have lived in the immediate area for 15 years and Booby 's is a frequent choice for us. I am very disappointed at my experience this weekend. I looked forward when in Chicago to come here and eat.This week I was greeted very rude by the front staff. There was no greeting at the counter just a hurry up and place your order. When asking for some extra 5 cents bbq sauce it was treated like there was an issue. I was told you have some on your sandwich. Now as I sit and watch the interactions of other customers they were treated like Gold. I have never had this experience at Booby’s before .It was always pleasant.They really need to work on the new staff during lunch hours on customer service. I have been going to Booby's for over 30 years enjoying their famous Steak Sandwich. Today, Juneteenth, I went with my 2 normal lunch friends and ordered 3 Steak Sandwiches with Fries, 2 salads and a soup, along with 3 Large Drinks. Our normal order every time we go there. Today was Way Different. Salads and Soup were normal/outstanding. The Steak Sandwiches were served on either day old or older bread or some new recipe of bread which was just terrible. Usually it is served on a Fluffy, light French bread. This was like 3 times as dense almost like Sourdough bread. A complete Turn Off. The menu did not enumerate what came on a cheeseburger. I naïvely assumed it would be the fairly standard selection: ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, maybe onion…I was not expecting grilled onions, pickles, a scoop of coleslaw, and nothing else.Some people in the dining room got porcelain plates, and metal tableware. The restaurant is very clean and the service is quick and polite. However, my burger was quite disappointing. It seemed like it had been pulled straight from the freezer and tossed onto the grill without any seasoning. It lacked salt, pepper, and overall flavor. I might consider returning to try the steak sandwich, as it appears to be the most popular item. Rating for the food: 2/5.

I've always wanted to try this restaurant since I've walked by it countless times. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We visited around 10:30 AM on a Saturday. The fries tasted like they had been reheated from the night before, and the Italian sausage was in a similar state, with dry and tough edges. We won't be returning.

I don't have a picture that's how good it was. I have driven by this place a thousand times and have never been a customer. Today I had a taste for ribs and ordered thru Grubhub. The ribs were delicious, the baked potato was perfect, the coleslaw was amazing. I will definitely be a regular customer from now onFood: 5/5

This is a typical Chicago hot dog spot. The Italian beef was quite good, my daughter devoured her hot dog, and my sister enjoyed her gyro. I've been multiple times and haven't had any disappointments with their food. The Greek salad features a generous piece of feta for those who are interested. Reserva una mesa ahora

Came here after working out, looking for something healthy. Grilled chicken dinner had tons of protein. Highly recommend adding one or two more healthy sides and appeal to another audience.
