Brakeman's Burgers

We were excited to try this burger place! The atmosphere is old train depot and the train did go by as we sat and ate. We four had burgers. I splurged on the wagyu burger, an upcharge, and in all fairness I did order it medium well. It was very dry. It also was to come w arugula, blue cheese crumbles and garlic aioli….all in minuscule amounts. $21 . The bun and fries were good! We also ordered two margaritas which were not good. Very strangely sweet and no taste of tequila, we did send them back and they took them off our bill. My husbands green chile burger with a fried egg on top cooked medium was fantastic! Overall, we’d probably come back and I’ll order my burger medium.

Brakeman's used to have wonderful pizzas, burgers and fries... We were told they have new owners and now THERE ARE NO MORE PIZZAs! They have changed the menu (no more burger salad) and the fries were not great (at least tonight they weren't)... We used to come here for the Pizza! Such a loss. The burger was just ok. The fries were sort of stale. I don't know if they were left over and just reheated, but just not like they used to be. On the other hand our server was awesome and she did her best to make things the best she could! I don't think that we will be back unless they start making Pizza again.

It was Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, and they didn't plan well for the large amount of patrons. They didn't even look up my reservation but just told me they were understaffed and it would be a 15 minute wait. They called in another waitress and we finally got seated. The burgers were slightly overcooked for all of us. They ran out of the Wagyu so I settled for bison. I asked for medium and I got medium well. No pink! Reasonably priced but need improvement.

One of our orders included a veggie burger. It was so severely covered with pepper that she was unable to eat it. The bison burger had very little flavor and we’ve had them and other restaurants for years. We noticed there were very few people there on a Sunday. I would not go back.

The food wasn't very warm and the restaurant was cold. I put my coat back on. Staff was friendly. It was almost $100 for 4 people with just burgers, fries, soft drinks and 1 beer. No dessert or even milkshakes. Didn't feel like it was worth it.

The food and service were great. The kitchen is a bit slow and it is loud. The price is OK. For two of us with a soda and milkshake was over $60. For a burger and a pizza I think that is just a bit much. But the Pizaa and Burger were great!

OpenTable allowed me to make a reservation at this restaurant and they were closed. This may have been a last minute decision, as there was a handwritten notice taped to the door.

Took our son here for his birthday and he loved it. Everyone was so kind and the food was great!

Nice family, friends, business lunch restaurant. We were lucky enough to see 2 trains pass by.

Excellent food! Only complaint was no trains! Our 2 YO grandson was so disappointed.
