I visit Brew Babu whenever I am visiting my Grandchildren whom attend Oundle School. I do not normally write reviews but having a read a negative review , I thought it worth calibrating feedback with my experience. It honestly in my opinion has not changed in terms of atmosphere, quality of food and service since the current owner took over (i think 6/7years ago). I cant remember her name but She is very smiley, glamourous with big hair! On my visits I switch between the Specials Board and afternoon tea. Our visit to Brew Babu was exceptional from start to finish. The café exudes a charming and inviting atmosphere, making it a lovely spot for lunch with my family on a cold December day. I tried the croque monsieur, which was simply divine, so filling and good portion size. The kids loved the mango bubble tea and chocolate milkshake, and the variety of homemade cakes was impressive each more tempting than the last! The staff were friendly, especially the owner and added to the overall positive experience with their excellent service. It's rare to find a place that combines great food, lovely ambience, and outstanding service so well. Will return and can’t recommend enough!
Things at brewbabu are not what they once were. the scones and cake were stale and the coffee tasted awful with poorly foamed milk. After a long wait for the food to arrive it was flavourless and looked rushed. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired and even the cutlery was dirty! Management clearly don’t care anymore. I could even hear staff loudly complaining that the owner was late again! I won’t be back.

Unfortunately things have gone downhill here. The level of organization and cleanliness is scary. We had raw scones, stale old pastry and less than delicious food options. I wanted to love Brew Babu but it needs a hard reset before I’d eat there again.

Visited on a busy Sunday and had an excellent bowl of Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash soup, as well as an excellent latte. There is always a good atmosphere and it is a relaxing place to visit.

Quick visit for brunch. Coffee, chai latte, bacon bagel and poached eggs on muffins. Quick friendly, polite service. Tasty, well presented plates.
