Bridgeview Hotel Bar + Dining

The Bridgeview is my local pub and its pretty good really. The pub is essentially split into 3 main sections. There is the main public bar, the restaurant and the onsite accommodation.The public bar area is quite large and has a range of seating from benches and stools to tables and chairs and even a couple of big old school leather lounges. There is a reasonable sized area at the back that is often sectioned off for small functions.In the main area there is a pool table and a large projector screen which they play music videos on. This place is a good option for the more budget focused person. We chose it because it had free parking and everywhere charges stupid amounts for parking on top of the price of the room. Hopefully they will keep it that way as it's literally the reason we chose here! The place is really nice, we kept extending our stay and so we were in three different rooms. I would say the second floor (Heritage rooms) are nicer and the bathrooms up there are better. There is a kitchen with iron, hairdryer, foil ect which is SO useful! The cleaning team do such a good job, everything is spotless after they have been round and they are friendly too. The wifi did work most of the time well but was a bit slow...

Dined at the Bridgeview Hotel last week, hadn't been there for some years and so I was interested to see had happened to the place. It was a for a family dinner with around 10 people and we booked a lovely table up against the back windows which allowed plenty of room. The pub catered for all ages, several tables had groups of children, We found the food reasonable well cooked, mainly schnitzels,steaks and hamburger. Good thing in a large group is that at a pub you pay as you order so no difficult calculations at the end of the night. The last time i booked this hotel was superb. Which is why I booked again for Saturday night 1st April ( forgot it was April Fools Day!) We arrived around lunchtime, and were told the room will be ready in 15 minutes. Half an hour later, after eating there and playing pool, we asked again to be told, just another 15 minutes. 1 hour later, when we asked about the room, we were told about another half an hour! Going by the size of the rooms, I doubt they were telling me the truth. We ended up telling them we were leaving to find somewhere else with no response from the staff. if you're looking for a decent pub where you can have a good meal without the fancy prices, look no further than the Bridgeview. The steaks are juicy and tender, the fries are crisp and their burgers are sublime.They also do some great specials but its a trade-off; if you go early its full of families with young kids but if you go too late, you miss the specials, because they always sell out. Don't get me wrong, this is a great place to take the little tackers and there is a decent kids menu but if you're looking for a quiet meal with a few cold ales, don't go before 7:00.

We tend to come here with favourite grandchildren and family cause it has ample room for the wee ones to physically run around, eventually joining other dining group's sprigs doing the same. The grilled octopus slide well with the prawns and bits of speck, marinated in apple cider. Char-grilled Scott fillet satisfies most of the adults coming with mash that the wee ones don't mind mucking into. It's noisy but that is perfect with so many happy sprigs around. The fillet of salmon deserves plaudits as well. Tables are vacuumed swiftly, plates and cutlery replaced quickly.

I stayed here for 5 days and found it to be fantastic value for money. Loved my simple but spacious and tasteful room in a very convenient location. Great food (a bit on the expensive side) and friendly staff. Kicking myself for not finding this place sooner. Will definitely stay here again!Room would have been perfect with an extra blanket and a larger heater.

Had a steak here on my first night and fir the price I paid it was behind expectations! It was tender and cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere with friendly and accomodating staff. It has been a few years since my last experience which was good. The menu has changed but is still good. I had an enjoyable lunch with my family everybody was happy with their food. I will be returning.

Good variety on the menu, and great 'specials' nights. My favourite is the 250g steak. It's really consistently cooked and is a good serving size with the chips and salad.
