Browns Socialhouse

My husband and I visited Browns for dinner last night on the last leg of our long journey North from the southwest USA. So nice to be back home in Canada where the quality and standards of restaurant food and service is imo superior. Browns did not disappoint! Our waitress Brittany was wonderfully friendly and attentive and our steak dinners were delicious! The Thai soup we had as a prequel was equally delightful. My husband enjoyed an exceptional Caesar cocktail and the selection of wines is decent too. We were so happy to be “home” we even splurged in after dinner coffees and shared the delightfully decadent Chef’s brownie. All around super experience. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars...

Being attached to the Coast Hotel is likely its highest operating feature yet the premises are upbeat, the staff look like they've all just graduated from high school and have been starved but nevertheless, very smiley and attentive. Pricing is up there and the offerings (at the time we went) were slim pickings. Staff said they were in the middle of swapping suppliers and half their stock was either not available or was late in arrival so, what was offered on the menu wasn't really what you could have. My husband's burger/beer was great...my fish tacos were okay. No serious complaints again, the location is tops. Steps from my hotel room and no driving!!! I would recommend at least that!

We stayed at the Coast hotel as we always do, while visiting our daughter in Tsawwassen and visiting mom at the Pacifica retirement residence in White Rock. Always as good time at Browns....close, handy. Prices are a bit much if I might say anything negative. It would be great to have a discount if you are staying at the hotel attached to it but so far I don't believe that's in anyone's plon.

Open airy patio with comfortable seating, tv's and fireplace. Large comfortable private booths inside the restaurant. Presentation and taste of meals were appealing and tasty. Overall good value for this convenient dining in the Coast Hotel.

What the heck is this. Sort of not here nor there. Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? Seems the customers are the younger set from the area and meant to be kind of 'hip '. Well I would pass on that. Clearly Pedestrian.
