Best and oldest neighborhood Bar in Roger's Park. One of it's unique attributes is that it's one of the few remaining Bar Package Goods locations where you can sit and have a beer, chat with Matt or Tim and then grab a sixer and a half gallon of milk to go. Family owned and operated by the Roti's it's been a Roger's park staple for over 65 years. RIght across the street for Loyola on Sheridan Rd. and steps from the Loyola L stop it's all about location. I was initially inclined to leave a positive review because the drinks are affordable and the dartboard is a lot of fun. However, after stepping outside for a cigarette, when I tried to return, the owner blocked my entry. I asked if the bar was closed or if there had been a misunderstanding, and he told me it was closed, even though I hadn't had much to drink—just two beers. When I inquired about why I wasn't allowed back in, he raised his voice at me. The owner needs to stop treating customers unfairly, especially those who haven't done anything wrong.

The Loyola Bar remains a great spot. It has a package license, so you can purchase beer, snacks, and cigarettes. LaRue Martin is known to catch games here, and Porter used to drop by after matches. The bathrooms were remodeled during the pandemic. The drinks are affordable, strong, and served promptly. Make sure to stop by – you’ll really enjoy it!

The drink prices here are fantastic, unlike any other bar in Chicago. They renovated the place during Covid, and it looks great!
