My wife and I were on a 5 day ski break and as it was our last night plus it was my 40th birthday so we booked a table at Buergerstuben in Axams. The staff were very friendly and the waiter could speak good English. Like most places we visited in Austria the restaurant was clean and tidy. The walls were literally covered in art pieces ranging from life paintings to landscapes, I think most are for sale. This added to the experience – a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach! When it came to ordering food we opted for 2 of the set menus, and what was to come was course after course of gastric delight! Stefan the host was very friendly and helpful in translating the menu. Bit surprised that a restaurant of this stature has not seen it fit to have an English menu. The restaurant is covered with Art, many if not most, of an erotic genre. So perhaps not a place to take your kids who must still learn about 'birds and bees '. The food was very good, well presented and of excellent quality. All in all a restaurant I would not hesitate to recommend.
are only on holiday in axams and have chosen to eat the restaurant. to the environment you have to get used to, completely full, with pictures and small things: that was very freshly prepared and very tasty, the only manko was the waiting period, between order and eating, in which was usually around 30-44min, for us then a little long.
