Finally tried Bullfrog and while it was a fine breakfast sandwich, it just doesn't compare to the newer bagel establishments in dc. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an asiago. Let's start with the bagel it was sorta thin, didn't have much chew at all, honestly if it wasn't shaped like a bagel I might not know it was one. It was also weirdly sweet? Which for an asiago bagel was weird. Busy littlshop in Eastern market. So many hand rolled freshly made bagels to try. I decided on a sesame seed bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese. The girl took my order and told me my order number. As I waited I was already deciding what I will get the next time I come in. There are plenty of options for everyone here. It's a great place for breakfast and lunch. There was a small patio area outside to eat. My order came up quite quickly. The bagel is on the small size. Perfect for me. It was so fresh tasting. Nice chew. The filling was quite nice too. I'm going out on a limb and will say that they have the best bagels in DC, I'm not comparing it to NYC. And I'm not talking about sandwiches and all the fixings. Just the bagels. Yes they can be a bit chewy, but they are good. Not too airy and bready. Not sure those are real words but you get my point. And yes they can get a bit hard but that's what happens when you wake up late and stroll over like they are baking them just for you my Queen/king. They are most likely making them at 4 am not 11:30 when some people roll out of bed. Anyway, I just found out that they make an Everything Pumpernickel bagel, and it's really good!

This was a fun find on our trip to DC. We went on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy and we had to wait a bit for our food, which we expected going in. The bagel sandwiches were full of toppings and we left feeling satisfied. There is seating out front and additional seating along with a bathroom upstairs. The location was great because there were market stands on the streets so we went around shopping with our coffee after breakfast.

Best bagels in the metro. Delightfully chewy. They do that nice squish-kind-of-flat-but-not-too-flat-and-dense thing when you’re eating them. BEC is solid. Everything mix has salt. Staff is really nice, fast, and I’ve never had an incorrect order.
I wanted to love this place, it is a great location and ambience. Unfortunately the bagel was not very tasty, almost no seasoning, barely any lox, and the service was a bit rude. It was extremely busy so that is probably why it wasn’t stellar

Stopped in while visiting the Eastern Market and was pleasantly surprised! Got an everything bagel with chive cream cheese, egg, smoked salmon, and avocado. Sandwich was delicious, would definitely return if I was in the area!
