Due to heavy traffic stopped by on our way to the theatre in Bury St Edmunds. Tiny restaurant only three tables. Waited to get served, pleasant enough member of staff, although harassed at trying to serve counter and do drive through. Another staff member kept popping through with a headset on, but then disappeared. Waited about 15 minutes and was then informed my card payment hadn’t gone through as ‘the internet had crashed’ and apparently ‘is terrible’ at the premises. Tried again only for machine to show declined. Asked for cash, luckily I had some. Next customer was told cash only, followed by further customers tendering cards! Food finally turned up after 20 25 minute wait. While waiting I attempted to log onto BK’s website to leave feedback only to discover I needed a store number and I had no receipt. Once food arrived had to bolt it down to avoid being late. As we left the car park I realised I still had no receipt. I will be checking my credit card transactions carefully to make sure I’ve not been charged, although with no receipt and paying cash I’ve got no hard proof if it did go through. This morning searched BK website which doesn’t even show this branch as existing, only the new leisure park location!
