Very impressive fish and chips - could hardly be bettered, we felt, for freshness and choice of fish - which was perfectly crumbed and cooked- and excellent chips, done the way they should be. Barramundi is our favourite fish ( only Australian, and preferably wild caught) and at The Fish Mongers you can select your fish from the window display and have it cooked your way - battered, crumbed or grilled. Their Barra was delicious and succulent, tasted very fresh, and, as noted above, was perfectly cooked and served with plenty of lemon wedges. The pieces were generous and so were the serves of chips. Our UK guest said one would never get Fish and Chips so good in UK.We went back twice in the w...

On approaching this fish n chip shop I stopped to look at the fresh fish in the window. It looked good, and even though a piece of fried flake was $10, I decided to give it a go. I order 2 pieces of flake, 2 sea scallops, 2 potato scallops and chips for 2 people, which came to $35, which isn't cheap but I thought quality costs more. How wrong I was, the fish was so dry and didn't taste fresh, a bit like eating a fillet of leather. The sea scallops also tasted old and were tough. The chips were dried out and the potato scallops were really just circles of fried batter with a thin slice of potato.Amongst the worst fish n chips I have ever had, so my advice is find somewhere nice to eat.

this is a great place to go for hot and fresh fish and chips (regular potato or sweet potato) in Burleigh Heads. It was a bit of a wait for our order to come up on a busy Easter Sunday afternoon...but worth the wait. I had the crumbed cod...very good. The grilled fish others had may not have been as tasty (but undoubtedly was more healthy).....

This fish and chip shop is always busy in my experience but worth the wait. The food is fresh and cooked before your eyes. They sell takeaway fresh seafood too. We had a Chinese friend come visit so we took her to the beach for the day and had fish and chips in the park across the road. It was her favourite day in Australia!!!! Reserva una mesa ahora

I had a relaxing lunch of prawns and calamari with chips, it was very busy there, the produce was very good, very relaxed atmosphere, the service was excellent and there's a sneaky bottle shop across the road if you're discrete and want some wine ????

I may have been lucky but I can only go on my own experience. I came across this place by chance and had the best fish and chips I can recall. The service was good and I am surprised that there are so many negative comments here.

The worst Fish and Chip meal I have ever had. I had takeaway whiting fillets and chips. The fish was totally overcooked and dry and the chips were also overcooked with a large portion inedible. Most disappointing.

Burleigh Fish Mongers have been dishing out fish and chips to hungry patrons since I was a little kid and they have never failed to impress! Although Reserva una mesa ahora

a good feed of fish and chips; fresh is fresh and the chips plentiful. Very popular location so it can get busy.
