Great place but far too popular for it's own good. They don't take reservations, so be ready for well over an hour's wait. The upside of that is they have amazing cocktails, if you can get a seat at the bar. (Try their Manhattans. Yum.)That having been said, once you DO get a seat, the food is incredible. This is one of the more creative and interesting restaurants in Grand Rapids. It accounts for the hours waiting list, but it's worth it if you have patience and room for cocktails. We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The atmosphere is both cool and relaxing. The food is outstanding, and the service was excellent. My daughter has nut allergies, and the staff was very attentive to her needs. The Brussels sprouts were incredible, and the Wagyu Sirloin was fantastic. My wife couldn't stop raving about the salmon, and the cheesecake was one of the best I've ever had (even though I took off the dried cherries). I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu! It's best to arrive early, as it tends to get very busy during peak hours.
Easily the best restaurant in western Michigan. Every single dish I've had over multiple visits has been impeccable. Any time I'm in Grand Rapids, Butcher's Union is a must visit.I had Wagyu steak and she had sea scallop risotto... and wow... both were great but the risotto blew my mind. Parking: Might have to hunt for parking at paid street spots.

Wagu steak wasn't what I expected. The sirloin was better. The caesar salad was the best thing on the menu. The potatoes would have been good if they weren't burned.
Great food and service. It can be a wait sometimes but it's usually worth it. My girlfriend loves this place and can't get enough of it.
Only gave 4 stars because ordered the meatloaf thinking it would be filling and portion size was a let down. Otherwise incredible
Parking: You always have to pay for parking in the lots located within a block of Butchers Inn.
