Buttonwood is billed as a neighborhood place. I wish it was in my neighborhood! It has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that is just right for those times when you want some good food but are not in the mood for a fancy event. My friend and I both had the 1/2 chicken over polenta and it was excellent with some surprising flair notes and a delicious sauce. The wait staff was uniformly excellent and it appeared that they were all enjoying working there together which really added to the comfortable, homey atmosphere.
Service was fantastic and food was great! Will absolutely be coming back. My only thought on improvement was the bread on the burger, and the fries, both of which seemed a little less than fresh. Bread was a little dry. But the fries were seasoned well and the burger was super delicious, so it's a minor thing. Really only mentioning in case it helps! Loved out experience over all!
We wanted to find a quiet place with comfort food close to a good friend's house. We had reservations. We were seated immediately and spent over 2 hours at the table. we enjoyed a quiet, uninterrupted meal. Our server was kind and attentive. Food was great. Not enough room for desert though I would loved to try the bread pudding. We will go back and try dessert the next time.
