La Cabaña - Reserva de mesa

We were excited to try this restaurant for take-out on Labour Day after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. We ordered three different pupusas and two tamales (one chicken and one bean). The pupusas had decent flavor, but they were excessively greasy and one was way too salty to enjoy. The tamales were better, though one fell apart as soon as we unwrapped it from the foil and banana leaf, leaving us to eat it with a spoon. On a positive note, the side of slaw was delicious—tangy and quite spicy. Overall, though, we were disappointed with our experience. I revisited the restaurant today for a sit-down dinner and I must say, their food is absolutely delicious. As a Latin American myself, I can confidently say that this is some incredible cuisine! My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we have decided to make it a monthly tradition. We will definitely be returning to dine there again. I highly recommend their steak, pupusas, and tamales. The prices are also very reasonable. You won't regret dining here.

We have tried a variety of dishes multiple times and they have all been exceptionally delicious! Just a heads up, this is not your average fast food joint so don't expect to rush through your meal. We feel fortunate to have access to tasty and authentic Salvadorian cuisine right here in Ottawa!

Visiting from Toronto. Food was delicious. Best Yuca frita and chicharon ever. Pupusas were also good. Good customer service. Got very busy and clearly they could use more servers. Overall experience was great.

I have been a customer of La Cabaña for the past 15 years. Don David and Doña Irma have always been there, providing delicious food and excellent customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Pupusas are the best and their other dishes as well. I am lucky as I have the restaurant conveniently located. I also take advantage of La Tiendita to buy my favourite products from Latin America.
