This restaurant offers a fairly authentic sushi experience. The owner is extremely friendly and accurate with the orders. My fiancé ordered the cactus roll, which he really enjoyed, while I tried the salmon yaki roll; next time, I think I’ll stick to raw sushi instead. I also had the Marta roll, and it was very flavorful. The miso soup was fresh as well. I found it a bit pricey for my taste, as we spent around $75 for just the two of us, whereas I'm used to spending about $50 for a similar amount of food. However, I would still recommend this place.
The sushi here is always fresh. Other sushi places closer to my home in Dumont simply can't compete when it comes to freshness. I used to order from various nearby spots, but I unfortunately experienced food poisoning at every one of them. My husband discovered Cactus Tenafly, and it is definitely worth the drive. The owner and his wife are incredibly friendly, no matter how busy they are with orders. I truly hope this place remains open and thrives for many years ahead.
Since moving to the area from NYC, I've been coming here and it has quickly become my favorite sushi spot. The sushi is the best around, and the service is always accompanied by a friendly smile.
I ordered takeout for lunch, and my child could have made a better California roll by themselves. The ingredients weren't fresh. Service: Takeout Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–$20.
