They were very accommodating regarding dietary restrictions; I mentioned my need to avoid dairy, and they prepared all of my dishes without it. For a Middle Eastern restaurant, there were quite a few non-dairy options as well. In terms of wheelchair accessibility, while the handicapped parking and ramp aren't directly in front of the restaurant, they are close by. This is a charming and cozy restaurant that offers outstanding food. It's surprising to learn that one person handles all the preparation and cooking. The Mediterranean appetizers are delightful, and the baklava is the best I've ever tasted. For our dinner, the service was good, the atmosphere was inviting, and the price per person ranged from $30 to $50. I would highly recommend the Shish Tawook, Baklava, Falafel Koshari, Moussaka, and Chicken Shawarma. Overall, I rated the food a perfect 5, the service a solid 4, and the atmosphere a 4 as well.

My wife and I went here solely based on the yelp and Google reviews. The food was absolutely incredible. Just calling it Mediterranean would do it an injustice. The vegetarian Moussaka was like nothing I ever had. The flavors were incredible. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary and a wonderful dining experience, give Cafe 28 a try. My wife and I chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews we found on Yelp and Google, and I'm so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. Simply calling it Mediterranean doesn't do it justice. The vegetarian Moussaka was unlike anything I've ever tasted before; the flavors were breathtaking. If you're in the mood for something unique and a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend giving Cafe 28 a try.

I loved the decor and the music right away. The fattoush salad was the best I’ve had in 10 years! The lamb shank was tender and delicious and the rice so flavorful!!! I’m in love! Coming back tomorrow for round two!!! The one man who was the waiter and the cook, did an amazing job because I didn’t have to wait very long at all and my dishes just kept coming out fabulously!!! A hidden gem in Ocean Township. Huge menu with a variety of Mediterranean and Egyptian specialties plus daily specials. We have eaten in and taken out multiple times and have loved everything. This food is absolutely delicious. Had the babaganoush, fatoush salad and vegetarian mousakka. Every dish blew me away. Very nice staff, family friendly atmosphere.
