I went to this Coffee House on Saturday, February for breakfast. This Café is located on Löhrstraße in Koblenz. I have been to this Coffee House about four times. I have been to Ulrike’s Kulturbackhaus on the same street but wasn’t very impressed...with it either. I am not a coffee drinker. I do however go with my partner for coffee, when she wishes. I found the service at Café Baumann better, on this day than the service at Ulrike’s Kulturbackhaus. A few days prior, we made a reservation to have breakfast at Café Baumann. Café Baumann is an icon in Koblenz. Their bakery products are amazing and my Mum, who still lives in Koblenz, goes there all the time since years. Yesterday, old friends took us for breakfast and I hate to say it, but...it was less than average and the service was not only unattentive, but the execution was awful and any product that did not come from the bakery was less than average. The salami and turkey was ... cheap. The four of us hated it. Then, it took three attempts to get a soft boiled egg and it arrived mins after breakfast. Once the service had cleaned our plates, it simply disappeared. We sat there for another hour as you do in Germany and were not even asked if we cared for anyt...
I have been coming here for years since I started spending time in the area. Their cakes are just lovely, well made and very delicious. Their marzipan cake is my personal favourites with their assorted biscuits coming in a close second. This place is not...super cheap (with a small tray of buscuits coming in at but they are certainly worth it buttery, chocolatey and just well made with attention and care. If you are in Koblenz, stop by here and treat youself to a relaxed and enjoyable break. The service here is also friendly and efficient. I asked them to pack a cake to travel and so they asked how far and when I said London they went about packing it perfectly for the flight.
We walked in without a reservation and they were fully booked but they still managed to squeeze us in. To get the most out of the brunch buffet you need to go hungry because at around a head it isn’t cheap but it is...good value. The range and quality of the food is first class and you get a glass of prosecco too. Anywhere that has sachertorte on the brunch buffet is a sure fire winner as far as I’m concerned. Great experience... booking essential.
A bistro with bakery. Breakfast is really the thing. Don't miss the homemade jellies and jams. Sunday brunch is a hit with all. Ask about what you're ordering on regular days. The Vital Frühstuck is more than a hearty breakfast! Full of good things and...more suited for two. Cheerily decorated, lots of good smells from the bakery and confectionery side. Calorie City!
After entering the conditorei you can choose the cake you like, go to a table and wait to order your drink. Later you will get your chosen cake and drink, then it begins ..... the chef must be a genius, what incredible cakes they have,...the coffee is perfect, it is like heaven and you find it in Koblenz. Very much recommended!
