Cafe Bistro VaBene

This was the first restaurant we visited in Saalfelden and on the first night we were happy with our choices, but the next was very poor. A couscous salad was merely a plate of lettuce with nearly-plain couscous on it. The couscous did contain some tiny bits of pepper, cut into minute fragments, but nothing else discernible. The management were surprised at our complaint and questioning as to its nutrient content, but did at least have the grace not to charge for it but it was truly one of the worst vegetarian dishes ever served to us.

for a long time I was no longer in va bene under the old management. now I was in va bene three times in a week and as often I was surprised. nothing more of loud music, no more smoker, no more bad air, finally a menu with great offer and a convincing implementation by the kitchen forces. an ambitious and friendly, the personal friendly, attentive and trained. all in all: congratulate on the new pächter and: keep going!

First impressions were not good.Waitress appeared to notice our arrival but proceeded to wait on several other tables before us, and only after I had approached the inside counter.Service after that was speedy enough but cappuccino was not hot, and mostly froth.Cake was nice.

I am always happy to be in va bene. recently I tried the burger and it was really great! plus point: there are pimms to drink, which you get really very rarely.

there is a daily hit offered every day besides the normal card. freshly made. nice. ideal for lunch for business people or chill out in the evening
