Café de la Croix-d'Or

On our way back from Jura in France and we needed some food for adults and kids who had been in the car for too long. A quick google for the nearest restaurant and we ended up here. The menu seemed like any...other restaurant, so we ordered the usual. But what a surprise! The food was all homemade to perfection, the fricassée of mushrooms beautifully seasoned and properly cleaned, the homemade burgers with smoked meat and homemade fries, the fagotini pasta cooked and executed to perfection. This is a real pleasure to eat food cooked by someone who clearly cares a great deal about the job they do. nice and quiet place. I have not tasted any other dish but in view of what follows, the desire is not there I took a plate of vegetables (super al dente though! whose content did not exceed 3fr, zucchini carrot and .mushrooms, in a plate of vegetables all bathed in a puddle of oil far too much salt. for 20chf !! I find it hard to understand how one can offer this at this price without blushing I find it just dishonest finally, our server was nice and reserved, helpful. my friend had the roast beef which was ok, big plus for matchstick fries Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Be ready to take your chances with a dishonest waitress. Food is quite good (slightly expensive, poor beer selection but no doubt a good cook in the kitchen). Unfortunately cannot return after such terrible and furthermore offensive treatment (i do not take offense easily)....Assiettrs correctes mais service catastrophique et, encore, malhonnête.

Friendly staff , a lunch time place packed with local ,the food was nice even the salad a a little touch of grated walnuts to had a je ne sais quoi , tender porc with match stick chips ,and vegetable which were not over cooked..., all reasonably priced. Don't look at the decor you feel you gone back in the Reserva una mesa ahora

After a nice walk from Vallorbe in the Orbe's gorge (Orbe is also the name of the river), I was starving. I stopped in this restaurant (found thanks to TA), was lucky to find a table on the terrasse and could enjoy good cold cuts...and a delicious fondue. Good service. Nice place.

This was an easy drive up, park evening meal, with a touch of informal, local people. Their specialties were enjoyed by each of us (pizza, stone-cooked beef etc When driving around the area, we recommend this as a good stop for lunch or dinner.

Service very unfriendly,if asking something for the food, answer was allmost go somewhere else. If asking something out of menu> go somewhere else... like mcdonalds)...and place is expensive.. Reserva una mesa ahora

Good food, good service. Very good value for money. This place could be a bit updated in the decor but it’s an absolute surprise. Surely will come back when in Orbe

Das Tagesmenu war gut und preislich günstig. Der Service sehr freundlich. Das Café ist einfach, aber für ein schnelles Mittagessen sehr zu empfehlen.
