Cafe de la Rive

We were not aiming for this restaurant when we arrived in Mortagne but our first target for lunch was closed. And we are very happy it was!!! The man who looked after us at this restaurant could not have been more helpful and friendly if he had tried. We were a large group and he moved tables for us quickly. His English was impeccable which made interpretation of the menu very simple. One of the children of our party has a serious allergy to certain foodstuffs and he went above and beyond to help her have a very enjoyable meal without feeling left out from her cousins! It was just amazing. The food was also excellent and we tried a good range of what was on offer on their adults' and children's menus. All in all, an impressive waiter and a delightful restaurant/cafe.I believe that this is the same place as Chez Gigi which is reviewed separately?!

Had lunch with my two daughters. I had the tuna tartare which was delicious and the girls had the fish and chip which they loved. Service started a little slowly but improved. Overall, well worth a visit.

Have eaten here quite a few times over the last few years and the food is always really good and decent value. Would recommend if you are in the area looking for something to eat.

A small traditional restaurant with an excellent menu, albeit small, offering a good and varied choice. The menu was reasonably priced and the fare was tasty.

Tasteless food, mass produced, luke warm, staff friendly though. To be avoided as are all the other restaurants owned by the same owner in Mortagne.
