Le Patio - Reservar una mesa

We ended up in Le Patio on an evening when the choice of eateries in the port of Mortagne was extremely limited. Requesting a table for two, we were given the last one available, in an uncomfortable position next to the kitchen. I asked if another pair of tables set as a four could be split, but was told no. Moments later, new customers were offered the table we had asked for, which had now been divided we quickly moved to where we had requested to sit. Within a few minutes the whole restaurant was full anyway there was nowhere else open to eat in Mortagne. Our meal was adequate, but nothing worth writing about. Service was OK. The meals varied substantially in size, depending what was ordered, and there was not a great deal of choice, pizza and pasta aside. We didn't bother with dessert, and are not impressed enough to revisit.

Last night of a short holiday, we were recommended to the restaurant next door ! Both had a covered eating area on the harbour side, We decided on Le Patio, it was just a touch more informal, and the menus a little different. The dozen oysters were superb, the seafood pasta so memorable, plentiful portions, other diners meals looked appetising too. Service was efficient, although a smile would have helped! It was possible to eat indoors across the little road. Parking on the harbourside.

Had lunch here with our walking group about 22 of us mainly french. The service was very efficient for a large group and the food was delicious. We had mainly meat which was a bit of a shame as we had hoped for fish. Unfortunately the other restos here have all closed down so this is the sole survivor. We have visited several times over the years and it did not disappoint.

The port of Mortagne is pretty but short of appealing and enjoyable places to eat, except a new one recently reopened that sits on the corner. It's not Le Patio! The steak is good but everything else, especially the pizza's, very average. The owner/barman is not at all friendly or welcoming.

Arrived for our 1pm reservation and did not get served until 2pm! Shocking service and not one word of apology from the senior waiter Proprieter ? The food was dreadful- obviously reheated supermarket products We would never, ever return to this dreadful restaurant
