This open-air café, featuring its iconic green-and-white awning, offers more than just great food; it's all about the experience. Relaxing beneath the shade of the oak trees while enjoying chicory coffee and people-watching is pure joy. Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans is a slice of culinary history. The moment I tasted those warm, sugary beignets, it became clear why this place is a beloved institution. Founded in 1862, it has been serving these delightful treats for over a century! A helpful tip: steer clear of black clothing—powdered sugar is practically the dress code here! Whether you're kicking off your day or winding down after a night out, Cafe Du Monde is a timeless treasure that connec...

I was amazed by the huge pile of powdered sugar on the beignets, which spilled over the sides of the plate. They weren't overly sweet, and they were served hot and quite tasty, but be prepared for a bit of a mess if you don’t shake off some of the sugar. The chicory coffee was okay, nothing particularly special. The highlight of the visit was definitely the brass band playing outside, which made for a delightful early morning experience. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash, and the nearest ATM is a block or two away.

How can you visit New Orleans and not check this place out? I actually went to two different locations, one during a tour, and I have to say that I preferred the other spot to the one in the French Quarter. It was much more laid-back, cleaner, and the staff were incredibly friendly. You didn’t feel rushed there at all. I feel a bit odd writing this review because it’s such a New Orleans institution that, unless you’ve been living under a rock, most people are aware of it.

The beignets are so so good. It is definitely worth going. The service is fast but quite curt and they expect you to be ready and quick to decide what you want and order. You are on your own to figure out to grab a table and wait on a server which on a first visit can be confusing with so many people there. Be sure to have cash to pay. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great beignets. Line does look long but moves pretty fast. Restroom also tends to form a line since theres only 2 dirty restrooms. If you sit down you have to order something as I was told by an employee. The beignets themselves are delicious and worth the wait. Definitely a must to when visiting here.

This is one of the classic NOLA establishments. The beignets are fresh and delicious. It is a super busy spot so be prepared to wait to get a table. Cafe Dumont only accepts cash so don’t forget to head to the ATM across the street before you go

Great Coffee Chikory, great French donuts. There is a long line up at front but don’t get confused, that is for take out. Just find an available table and sit. They will find you and take your orders.

The best donuts in New Orleans! You won't find anything like this anywhere else but in New Orleans. Reserva una mesa ahora
