You search for black forest cake in Baden-Baden and this is the first hit, with good reason. The cake itself was well done, although perhaps a little bit disappointed with the portions sizes but it wasn't overly expensive so I could have easily taken another (service permitting). Creamy, fluffy sponge, cherry liquor, and of course the cherries themselves, all as expected. I took the opportunity to have a bit of a late breakfast. Coffee was acceptable but not worth going just for that, neither were the croissants but considering the alternative was hotel continental breakfast that morning then I can say it was a fantastic choice made that day. Service was... interesting. My order was staggered, I took a coffee and an orange juice for example but the juice didn't come until 20 minutes after the coffee, no warning or explanation. There were 3 waiters/waitresses but each for specific tables in random order (to me at least), so it was difficult getting the specific one's attention. Usual stuff when it comes to questionable service in restaurants where you feel like raising and waving your hand as if you're in school again, so not a massive negative depending on what you're used to. Just disappointing and a tad annoying. It was fairly full at the beginning, but quite relaxed and got emptier towards the end of my stay. Had the cake, so mission fulfilled, but I didn't feel a great need to go back because of the quality of other items with a bit of a disappointing level of service.

rick steves said that we came here for black forest cake, so we knew that this place had to be at least atmospheric (but low expectations to the actual food.) we have the erdbeer vanilla cream cake and the black forest cake and both were great. eating out was so sweet. the tablecloth is victorias secret pink and white stripes. they can order good looking food and amazing looking sunflowers or just go in and get their cake. y

It's a good cafe in Baden Baden and prominently located. The confectionery choice is also good but if you need to order a pastry, you need to walk to the bakery to order. The service is slow hence, you need to exercise patience. The ambiance is good as it gives you a choice for indoor as well as outdoor seating.

We had our first slice of blackforest cake here and it’s the best we had so far in Germany. Incredibly light cream with moist sponge and sour cherry filling. We also had a berry tart with custard and it was fresh and delectable. Service may be a little slow.
