I absolutely adored this charming little café! I was excited to discover that they roast their own coffee on the premises. I tried the café con leche, a Mexican coffee, and it was simply delightful—it brought back wonderful memories of my time living in Mexico City! I was also pleasantly surprised by the variety of gluten-free options available. I had the banana bread, which was incredibly moist and delicious! The owner was very kind during our conversation, which enhanced my overall experience. I really enjoyed my visit, and I will definitely recommend this lovely hidden coffee shop in Hinsdale!
My wife and I have been loyal customers of Cafe La Fortuna, but today's visit was quite disappointing. She ordered an iced tea and asked for a refill, only to be told by the woman at the register that refills weren’t allowed. We ended up paying $5.00 per drink, totaling $10.00 for two cups of flavored water. While we love supporting local businesses, this felt like a blatant price gouge—especially since we paid more for iced tea than for their signature coffee. Unfortunately, this experience has put us off, and we won’t be returning to Cafe La Fortuna or its menu for a while.

The prices are excellent, with my total only being $5, and everything I tried was delicious. The old-fashioned donut was my favorite. The espresso had a nice kick to it. While the interior is somewhat small, there are options for outdoor seating.
